Placing people into the locations given by the question stem.

(1)Simone  (2) - (3)[Francisco or Gabrielle] (4) Raymond (5)[Francisco or Gabrielle]  (6) - (7) - (8) -

There are now four possible seats which Olivia can take. If Olivia is seated at seat number 2, she will be seated between Simone and one of Francisco or Gabriella. Regardless of Francisco's or Gabriella's seat number, Simone is definitely one person who can be seated next to Olivia. Looking at the answer choices, (A); (C) and (D) do not include Simone - so eliminate those. As stated prior, if Olivia is seated at number 2, she will also have either Francisco or Gabrielle next to her - Answer choice (B) does not include either and for that reason (E) has to be theanswer.
