Let us take the options one by one,
A. x = 10=>y=0; x+y=10
B. x = 9=>y=(19)^0.5; x+y=13.35
C. x = 8=>y=6; x+y=14
D. x = 7=>y=(51)^0.5; x+y=14.14 Hence Maximum and answer
