From what you said, it sounds as if you haven't learned to get verbal questions correct the first time you see them.
There are different dimensions to GMAT skill. One of them is basically knowing how to answer questions. Another is knowing how to get correct the questions you know how to answer. It sounds as if, possibly, you have developed the first but not really developed the second. If so, you need to work on developing skill in actually arriving at correct answers to verbal questions.
