General GMAT Questions and Strategies | Best order to look at the answer choices on the GMAT?

For CR and RC, you can first work your way from the first choice to the last. On that first pass, don't eliminate any choices unless they are very obviously incorrect.

Then, go through the choices from top to bottom again, and carefully eliminate the most clearly incorrect ones.

Then, carefully consider the differences between the last two or three to arrive at the correct answer.

For SC, you also start off working from the first to the last, but once you find an error in an area of a version, it makes sense to scan the other versions for an error in the same area.
