Lets say Y does 'w' unit of work in T hrs, in 3T hrs it will do 3Tw, which is the total work.

X will do 3w units of work in T hrs as it is thrice as efficient as Y.

Together they will take= 3Tw/4w = 3T/4.
Hence D is correct choice.
