(1) Each of the 𝑛 employees who shared the cost of the party paid $20.

We do not know how many people attended the party, could be anything. The max we can infer is the total bill of the party is a multiple of 20
Hence this information is not sufficient.

(2) If the total cost of the dinner was paid by only one employee, the total cost was $100.

Insufficient again !

We don't know how many people split it. The inference that we can make is the number if people is a factor of 100.

Combined

Each person paid $20 and the total bill was $100. So number of people who shared the bill is 5.

Sufficient.
