in my oppinion I think that if the wording was a bit different this question would have been solvable much easier than now, and this is why I think that:
it says "If a and b are positive integers such that a/b = 2.86, which of the following must be a divisor of a?"
considering the question like this most students would connect "divisor of a" to be the denominator that is b in the equation. So what happens we solve for b and say be must be 50 and a must be 143 and that is
