The shaded area = area of square - 2(area of semicircles) + Common area between the semicircles
Area of square =\(4^2 = 16\)
2 (area of semicircles) = area of circle =\(πr^2 = 4π\)
Common area = 2( area of quarter circle - area of yellow triangle)
=\(2(\frac{{4π}}{4} - \frac{{2*2}}{2}) = 2(π-2) = 2π -4\)
the shaded area =\(16 - 4π + 2π -4 = 12 - 2π\)
B
note : the semicircles must be passing through the center of the square
