The functions p* q denotes p + q and the function max (p, q) denotes the maximum value of p and q. For example, 1*2= 1+2=3 and max (1, 2) =2. What is the value of 2*(Max (p, q))?

I. Max (5, p) = 6
II. Max (3, q) = 3


This is how I solved ( I got D). I think the OA is wrong (maybe). Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong.

Nowhere in the question talks about anything other than the variables, p & q.

Statement 1: Max (5, p) = 6. It is implied that p=6, q=5.........hence we can find the value
